SwRI is Leader in NASA Mission Management

Southwest Research Institute has implemented projects at both ends of the cost and performance spectrum. SwRI continues to develop and operate high-reliability spacecraft (S/C) avionics, instrument systems and whole missions, along with design-to-cost systems including sounding rockets, balloon payloads (P/Ls) and CubeSat avionics. For the CYGNSS effort, SwRI played the key management role in making sure that all institutions fulfilled their obligations in making CYGNSS a successful mission.


One of the most crucial aspects of SwRI's management role was supporting the Principal Investigator in keeping the mission on schedule and within budget. Throughout all phases of mission development, CYGNSS fulfilled all critical milestones under budget and with healthy reserves.
